  • 500g chicken thigh, boneless skinless, diced
  • 200g chicken liver, chopped
  • 4 whole eggs, lightly beaten
  • 100g butternut squash, peeled and cubed
  • 50g chicken hearts, chopped
  • 30g sardines in water (no salt), drained
  • 20g chicken fat
  • 100ml water

Step-by-Step Instructions

High animal protein from muscle meat, liver, and eggs supports lean mass. Chicken liver provides bioavailable vitamin A and iron for skin cell turnover. Eggs deliver biotin and complete amino acid profile. Sardines contribute EPA/DHA omega-3s that reduce inflammatory skin conditions and improve coat sheen. Butternut squash adds soluble fiber for gut health and beta-carotene. Taurine is supplemented as cats require dietary sources. Zinc supports skin barrier function and wound healing. Vitamin E acts as antioxidant protecting skin cell membranes. This recipe meets AAFCO nutrient profiles for adult cat maintenance when supplements are included as directed.

🧊 Safety & Storage

Refrigerate in airtight containers up to 4 days. Freeze portions up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in refrigerator. Never leave at room temperature over 1 hour. Always use fresh chicken liver within 2 days of purchase. Wash hands and surfaces thoroughly after handling raw poultry and eggs. Discard any uneaten food after 2 hours.

⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning

Do not substitute chicken liver with beef liver without adjusting vitamin A levels—beef liver is significantly higher in retinol and may cause toxicity. Do not replace sardines with tuna due to mercury concerns. Avoid substituting butternut squash with pumpkin pie filling, which contains toxic spices. Do not omit taurine—cats cannot synthesize this essential amino acid and deficiency causes blindness and heart failure. Do not use raw eggs regularly; avidin in raw egg whites blocks biotin absorption.
