This recipe provides high-quality animal protein primarily from chicken liver, eggs, and chicken breast, supporting lean muscle maintenance. The fish oil contributes omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) essential for skin health and a glossy coat, while sunflower oil adds omega-6 fatty acids. Chicken liver is naturally rich in vitamin A, vitamin B12, iron, and biotin—all beneficial for skin and coat condition. Taurine supplementation is critical as cats cannot synthesize this essential amino acid. Note: the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio is below the ideal 1.1-1.5:1 range; consider adding 1/4 tsp bone meal or a calcium carbonate supplement (500mg calcium per batch) if feeding this recipe long-term. Always consult your veterinarian before transitioning to homemade diets.

🧊 Safety & Storage

Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze individual portions for up to 2 months. Thaw frozen portions in the refrigerator overnight, never at room temperature. Always serve at room temperature or slightly warm. Discard any uneaten food left out for more than 2 hours. Wash all surfaces and utensils thoroughly after preparation. Never feed raw eggs due to avidin and salmonella risk.

⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning

Do not substitute chicken liver with other organ meats without adjusting portions, as liver is extremely high in vitamin A and overfeeding can cause toxicity. Avoid replacing fish oil with plant-based oils lacking EPA/DHA. Do not add onion, garlic, grapes, or excessive salt as these are toxic to cats. This recipe is formulated for adult cats only and should not be fed to kittens or nursing queens without veterinary guidance.
