This recipe provides moderate protein to support aging muscle mass while remaining gentle on senior kidneys. The sardines deliver natural EPA/DHA omega-3s for anti-inflammatory joint support. Turmeric enhances bioavailability of joint supplements. The calcium-phosphorus ratio falls slightly below ideal due to meat-heavy formulation; consider adding 1 tsp ground eggshell powder per batch if feeding long-term. Consult your veterinarian before making this a complete diet, as individual senior dogs may need phosphorus restriction based on kidney function.

🧊 Safety & Storage

Refrigerate portions in airtight containers for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw frozen portions overnight in refrigerator, never at room temperature. Always serve at room temperature or slightly warmed. Wash hands and all surfaces thoroughly after handling raw meat. Discard any food left uneaten after 2 hours.

⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning

Do not substitute sardines with tuna or other high-mercury fish. Avoid replacing turmeric with curry powder which may contain toxic garlic/onion powder. Never use grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, or xylitol-containing ingredients. Substituting grain-free options may alter caloric density and require veterinary nutritionist adjustment.

⚕️ Always consult your veterinarian before changing your pet's diet.
