Chicken Kitten Growth Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, skin removed
  • 2 oz chicken liver
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cod liver oil
  • 1/4 tsp taurine powder
  • 1/2 tsp calcium carbonate (higher for growth)
  • 100 IU vitamin E
  • 200 mg DHA-rich fish oil

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Place chicken thighs and liver in a pot with water. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes until tender.
  2. Reserve 2 tbsp cooking liquid. Let meat cool slightly.
  3. Place chicken, liver, and reserved liquid in a food processor. Blend until very smooth (kittens need fine texture).
  4. Add cod liver oil, taurine, calcium carbonate, vitamin E, and DHA oil. Blend thoroughly.
  5. Portion into 4-5 small daily meals (kittens need frequent feeding). Refrigerate up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
