The calcium-to-phosphorus ratio is below the ideal 1.1–1.5:1 range for cats; this recipe is intended for short-term or rotational feeding only unless 1/4 teaspoon of finely ground eggshell powder or 300 mg calcium carbonate is added per batch to correct the ratio. Taurine supplementation at 300 mg per serving meets the minimum requirement for adult cats. Omega-3 fatty acids from sardines support skin, coat, and joint health. This recipe is high in moisture and protein, consistent with obligate carnivore nutritional needs.

🧊 Safety & Storage

Refrigerate in airtight containers for up to 3 days. Freeze individual portions in ice cube trays for up to 2 months. Thaw frozen portions overnight in the refrigerator. Never leave at room temperature for more than 30 minutes. Discard any uneaten food after 2 hours. Wash hands and all surfaces after handling raw egg.

⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning

Do not substitute tuna with albacore or fresh high-mercury fish such as swordfish or king mackerel. Do not replace sardines with anchovies or pickled fish due to excessive sodium. Avoid substituting liver with other organ meats without adjusting vitamin A intake. Do not omit taurine—cats cannot synthesize adequate taurine and deficiency causes blindness and heart failure. Do not use onion, garlic, or chives in any quantity as these are toxic to cats.
