  • 1 cup chopped green beans
  • 2 tbsp ground sunflower seeds
  • 2 large eggs (whole, with shells crushed)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  4. Grind washed eggshells into a fine powder using a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle
  5. Combine cooked turkey, rice, vegetables, and eggshell powder in a large mixing bowl
  6. Add ground sunflower seeds, ground flaxseed, fish oil, and salt, mixing thoroughly
  7. Divide into daily portions based on puppy's weight and expected adult weight

This formula provides 450 kcal per cup with 35% protein and 15% fat on a dry matter basis, meeting growth requirements for puppies. The calcium:phosphorus ratio of 1.3:1 supports proper skeletal development. Supplementation with Vitamin D3, zinc, and selenium is essential as these are inadequate in the base recipe. Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil and flaxseed support brain and eye development. This recipe is not complete and balanced without the specified supplements.

🧊 Safety & Storage

Store prepared food in refrigerator at 40°F or below for maximum 5 days. Freeze individual portions at 0°F for up to 3 months. Thaw frozen portions in refrigerator overnight, never at room temperature. Wash hands and all surfaces thoroughly after handling raw meat. Discard any food left out for more than 2 hours. Always provide fresh water alongside meals.

⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning

Substituting ingredients without adjusting supplements can cause serious nutritional imbalances affecting bone development and growth. Do not replace ground turkey with fattier meats without recalculating fat content. Do not omit eggshells or substitute calcium sources without veterinary nutritionist guidance—incorrect calcium:phosphorus ratios in puppies cause developmental orthopedic disease. Do not use non-iodized salt without adding iodine supplement.
