Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 oz chicken liver, finely chopped
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup finely grated carrot
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp calcium carbonate
  • 200 IU vitamin E

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cook ground chicken in a skillet until browned.
  2. Add finely chopped chicken liver in the last 3 minutes of cooking. Cook just until liver is no longer pink inside.
  3. In a separate pot, cook oats in 2 cups water for 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Combine meat mixture with oats and grated carrot.
  5. Add olive oil, calcium carbonate, and vitamin E. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Cool completely. For recovering dogs with poor appetite, try warming slightly to enhance aroma. Refrigerate up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
