🧊 Safety & Storage
Always cool food to room temperature before serving. Refrigerate unused portions within 2 hours of cooking. Discard any food left out for more than 1 hour. Thaw frozen portions in the refrigerator overnight, never at room temperature. Wash hands and all surfaces thoroughly after handling raw meat. Consult your veterinarian before switching to homemade food, and schedule follow-up bloodwork every 6 months.
⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning
Do not substitute pumpkin with pumpkin pie filling (contains toxic xylitol and excess sugar). Do not replace beef broth with regular broth (may contain onion/garlic, toxic to dogs). Rice substitutions with quinoa or oats alter the fiber profile and calcium-phosphorus balance. Never add salt, onion, garlic, or nutmeg. If beef must be swapped, use 90% lean turkey but adjust calcium supplement to 600mg per serving due to different mineral content.
